SAILING BETWEEN PORTS

There are four inhabited ports where you can visit with your own boat for up to 60 days with your “Autografo”.

  • Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz Island
  • Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, San Cristóbal Island
  • Puerto Villamil, Isabela Island
  • Puerto Velasco Ibarra, Floreana Island
CRUISING PERMIT WITHIN THE PROTECTED AREAS.

To obtain a Cruising permit within protected areas in the Galapagos Islands, two requirements are required:

  • Autógrafo
  • A special authorization from the Galapagos National Park is required for the yacht to visit protected areas according to a specific itinerary, which includes pristine and remote sites. A certified naturalist guide from the park must be on board during the voyage through these protected areas.
EMERGENCY ARRIVAL/ ARRIVAL WITHOUT AUTOGRAFO

Vessels have the right to request an emergency stop at Galapagos ports through a yacht agency, typically due to serious mechanical issues or medical emergencies.

The Galapagos authorities are very strict, so upon arrival, the Navy will inspect the vessel, and the harbor master will assess the validity of the emergency. If the stop is brief, only minimal port clearance IN/OUT fees will apply.

These vessels are permitted to stay in only one port, and the length of stay will be determined by the maritime authorities based on their inspection and judgment upon arrival. The following documents are required upon arrival.

  • Passport Copies of all crew (...)
  • Copies of all crew and guests on board
  • The certificate of registry
  • Last port clearance stating the vessel was not heading to Galapagos
  • Fumigation certification from the last port
